My work is a distillation of being and of experience. It is a meditation on anxiety and joy, memory and loss, place and family, love and fear.

Through painting, drawing, and writing, mining from the internal psychological realm, and shaping the external physical world of matter, I aim to extend a bridge from the known rational space we inhabit into an unknown, unmapped metaphysical domain. I build landscapes and dreamscapes, places, stages and sets, within and on which forms, structures and words become protagonists, charged to navigate their way through impossible architectonics. Within the works we see relationships built and broken, territories developed and dissolved, forms emerge into figuration and retreat into abstraction. We witness both conflict and resolution: lives being lived.

I believe that enduring worthwhile work should be forged within a series of opposing and contracting forces, where balance, both physical and psychological, is pushed and pulled to its limit. This allows the chance to tear open a place between: a chasm, ripe for exploration. It is these moments of fissure that can move us beyond understanding, beyond design and rationality, and towards that which is unseen: towards a felt, intuitive reality.
